We were retained to recruit for the position of Marketing Manager to be based in their UK offices as a maternity contract.
TIME/RESOURCING: The UK market for marketing employees is difficult; positions such as these often attract a very large number of responses, but they are not the right ones and consume time and energy.
MATERNITY LEAVE / HITTING THE GROUND RUNNING: The position was time critical as it was important to allow for a hand over period and the start date was pre-determined. Acronis is a rapidly growing company enjoying positive analysts’ reviews and awards. The candidate needed to be able to hit the ground running to make an impact.
With a view to keeping the shortlist as short as possible Matchking marketing carried out a dual approach, leveraging both database and direct reach out through targeted networking within our Powering H2H marketing network.
Matchking moved straight to a shortlist after the initial selection process was completed.
Using our knowledge of the company and its culture acquired from previous assignments, and bearing in mind the 2 main challenges, we elected to carry out face to face interviews only and provided 5 candidates.
The interviewing process was extensive and thorough due to the importance of the position included both telephone and face to face stages, with HR, the Marketing Director and both the Sales Director and the General Manager. At all stages, the candidates were managed and feedback appropriately is given, the client was kept in the loop at all times. Of the recommended candidates all six had first interviews, 3 had second interviews and 2 reached the final stage interview; Rebecca Ewing was offered the role.
Matchking remained very hands-on throughout the negotiation process and Rebecca started her new role in September 2015.
